The Knights Templar were more than an order of noble knights. Sergeant Brothers formed the backbone of the order, serving as warriors, craftsmen, administrators, and trusted retainers. In battle they fought alongside their knightly brothers, often as lighter cavalry, and some rose to positions of considerable responsibility. Unlike the famous white garments reserved for Templar knights, the Sergeant Brothers were distinguished by black or brown clothing bearing the red cross.

Using our Knight's Surcoat as a base, this surcoat represents the fighting Sergeant Brothers with the red cross of the Templar order upon a field of black, or in heraldic terms, "Sable, a cross Gules." Ideal for medieval inspired cosplay, LARP, or stage and film productions.
