Crowned King of Jerusalem at only thirteen years old, Baldwin IV inherited a kingdom surrounded by enemies while already suffering from the disease that would give him his famous name, the Leper King. Yet Baldwin refused to give in to his failing body. In 1177, at only sixteen, Baldwin led his badly outnumbered army to shatter Saladin's invading forces at the Battle of Montgisard and won one of the greatest victories in the history of the Kingdom of Jerusalem. Baldwin IV would spend the remainder of his short life fighting to preserve his kingdom, ruling until his death in 1185 at twenty-four years old.
On a base of a light blue Knight's Surcoat, this surcoat displays the heraldry of the knights of Jerusalem: a gold Jerusalem cross in a white field or, in heraldic terms, “Argent a cross potent between four crosses couped Or.” Ideal for medieval inspired cosplay, LARP, or stage and film productions.
