Make a statement with your own take on this boro inspired reversible vest. Designed by Jane MacDonald in 2017, this garment is both comfortable and versatile to wear.
There are many fabric and colour combinations that work well to make this unique vest. Consider fabrics such as yarn dyed, tsumugi, yukata, shibori dyed, kasuri fabrics including worn out fabrics to give them new life. There really is no limit but consider the thickness of the fabrics as you will be stitching through a few layers, looser weave fabrics work the best.
Some knowledge of garment assembly is assumed in these instructions.

Fabric suggestions for reverse side of vest:
Consider a fabric that isn’t too heavy for the reverse side of the vest as you will be stitching through a few layers. Jane likes takumi or sarasa fabrics which are ideal. Mount fuji takumi fabirc used in sample 13N-7b would also work well chrysanthemum takumi fabric (18N-2B)
