Slice through oddly shaped vegetables, from lettuce and butternut squash, to the thickest roasts with ease. Smashing is suggested for food items such as lemongrass and garlic and also to tenderize cutlets. Its unique lighter blade, compared to big and heavy cleavers, is not recommended to be used for splitting and breaking poultry or other butcher bones.
