How does it work?

Fred Pro Max works with the MyTag app and the same dual-network tracking as Fred Pro, drawing on both the Apple and Android/Google networks of nearby phones for accurate, frequent updates with three days of history. The difference is the build. A heavy-duty magnet in the base clamps straight onto metal, so it's made for tracking vehicles, trailers, gates and equipment rather than a soft collar, and a high-capacity CR2477 battery means far longer between replacements.

Bluetooth range is around 10 to 15 metres and is reduced by walls, metal and other obstructions, and you can tap the sound icon to make it beep when you're close. As with any network tracker, it relies on nearby phones to update its location.

How to use

1. Scan the QR code in the printed manual to download the MyTag app from the App Store or Google Play.

2. Twist open the lid and pull the tab to wake Fred Pro Max, then close it back up.

3. Follow the in-app steps to pair your tag. No account sign-up needed.

4. Place Fred Pro Max against any clean metal surface and let the magnet take hold.

Yes, to keep track of where a trailer, car, caravan or piece of equipment is. It reports its location whenever a phone on the Apple or Android network passes nearby. It isn't a live GPS anti-theft tracker, so if you need real-time alerts for a stolen vehicle, use a 4G GPS vehicle tracker.

Is it a magnetic GPS tracker?
It's a magnetic Bluetooth tracker. There's no GPS chip or SIM, which is why there's no subscription. Its location comes from nearby phones on the Apple and Android networks.

How long does the battery last?

Will the magnet hold on a moving vehicle?
