February 2022: Nature’s Longest Necks!

This issue is up to its neck in wild stories and nature news! From snake-necked turtles to giraffe-like insects, we look at lots of long-necked creatures.

Why are giraffes’ necks so long? What animal is the llama’s wild ancestor? How did sauropods carry those mega-necks around? Who saved the Nubian giraffes trapped on a shrinking island? How does an emu make thumping and BOOMing noises? And what is the annual Swan Upping? We’ll tell you everything you need to know! (No tall tales here!)
