Before she became Queen Elizabeth I, she was simply a little girl who'd much rather stay tucked beneath the covers. This charming picture book follows young Bess through an elaborate Tudor morning routine, reminding readers that even future queens have to wash up, get dressed, and do things they'd rather avoid. Richly illustrated and full of historical detail, it's a delightful blend of history, humor, and childhood.
