Chard Bright Lights is as beautiful on the plot as it is useful in the kitchen, producing a striking mixture of brightly coloured stems topped with generous leaves. Young leaves have a mild, slightly sweet flavour and are delicious picked fresh for salads, while larger leaves can be cooked like spinach and the succulent stems enjoyed in stir-fries, gratins and other dishes. The colourful plants keep cropping over a long season and make an attractive addition to allotments, raised beds, borders and containers.
