Inspiration

The Spatter Table Lamp started from the blue-and-white spatterware and spongeware that filled old farmhouse kitchens: crocks, pitchers and enamel coffee pots dabbed and flicked with blue until the white showed through in small, uneven specks. No two pieces came out the same, and the color always pooled heavier in some places than others. We took that rough, speckled finish and put it on a set of round, hand-shaped ceramic jars, then gave each one a plain fabric shade so the pattern stays the main thing you notice.

Each base is shaped and glazed by hand. The spread of blue and white, the texture and the exact shape differ on every lamp, so no two look exactly the same.

Which size should I choose?

The Small Round (14.2″ / 36cm) fits a nightstand or a bookshelf. The Slim Tall (15.7″ / 40cm) takes up the same 11.8″ of table space but sits a little higher, which suits a dresser or a narrow console. The Large Round (19.7″ / 50cm) is wide enough for a living room side table, a sideboard or a buffet.

Will my lamp look exactly like the photos?

Not exactly. Each base is shaped and glazed by hand, so the spread of blue and white and the texture of the surface differ on every lamp. The colors and overall shape will match the photos.

How does the light spread?

The wide fabric shade sends most of the light down over the base and onto the table, and some glows through the fabric. It gives warm, soft light for a bedside, a reading corner or a living room in the evening.

Is a bulb included, and how do I turn it on?

Yes. It comes with one E26 or E27 bulb in warm 3000K light. E26 is the standard screw base used in the US. It plugs into a wall outlet and turns on with the inline switch on the 150cm/59″ cord.
