The Brenlow Table Lamp started from the gateposts of old Italian villa gardens, where a round stone ball sits on top of each pillar and a row of tall, clipped cypress trees stands behind. Years of weather leave the balls pitted and banded with pale lines, and from the drive the two shapes line up, a sphere below and a narrow cone above. We set those two shapes on a table: a ball of the same kind of stone for the base, and a tall fabric cone for the shade.
The base is cut from natural travertine. Its banding, color and open pores differ on every lamp, so no two bases look exactly the same.
