The Florwick Wall Sconce started from the espaliered fruit trees in old European kitchen gardens, where pear and quince branches are trained flat against a stone wall and bent out to each side. In late summer the fruit hangs below the branch in a neat row, each one still wearing a small cap of leaves where it meets the stem. We drew the branch as a single bowed arm, hung three round stones from it in place of the fruit, and kept the little crown of leaves on top of each one.
The globes are cut from natural Spanish alabaster. Their veining, cloud pattern and color differ on every piece, so the three globes on one sconce will not match exactly, and no two sconces look the same.
