The Haverlyn Flush Mount Ceiling Light started from the old churches of northern Spain, where some windows were fitted with thin sheets of alabaster instead of glass. From inside, the stone does not look like a window at all until the sun is behind it, and then the whole pane glows, with its pale clouds and rust-colored veins showing through. We wanted that same glow overhead, so we shaped the stone into a small dome and set it up close to the ceiling under a plain metal cap.
The shade is cut from natural Spanish alabaster. Its veining, cloud pattern and color differ on every piece, so no two lights look exactly the same.
