The Bramere Wall Sconce started from the curved roof tiles on old Mediterranean houses, each one a half-round shell of stone or clay laid against a timber rafter. We took a single tile, stood it upright and let it taper toward the top, then set it on a narrow strip of wood the way the tiles rest on their beams. The stone is left with its pores and bands showing, as it comes from the quarry. Lit, the light slips out above and below the stone and spreads along the wall.

Each travertine shade has its own natural pores, bands and color, so no two sconces look exactly the same.
