The Marigelle Table Lamp started from an old yellow glazed crock on a farmhouse windowsill, filled in May with lily of the valley and forget-me-nots picked from the garden. Years of use had left fine crackle lines all over its glaze, and the flowers spilled loosely over the rim. We kept both halves of that picture: the round, crackled yellow pot below and a shade printed with the same spring flowers above. Lit in the evening, the shade glows like that windowsill in late sun.
