The Lantelle Portable Table Lamp started from the oil lanterns once carried from room to room by a leather strap, set down on the table for supper and picked up again at bedtime. We kept that habit in its shape: a rounded glass shade between a turned wooden cap and base, with a leather handle on top held by two brass pins. The glass comes plain white, swirled pink or flecked with cream. Lit, the glass glows evenly all around, like a lantern held at arm’s length.
