The Cervaine Table Lamp started from bellflowers and morning glories, the way they bend on their stems toward the light while the edges of their petals curl outward. We drew the shade as a single open bloom with ruffled edges, hung it from a curving stem, and gathered a ring of pointed leaves at the foot, as if the lamp were growing from a small clump of plants. A curled leaf at the top of the stem finishes the line. Lit, the frosted petals glow softly around the bulb, like a flower held up to a sunny window.
