The Marovelle Table Lamp comes from the old yellow-ground porcelain jars where the pattern is left white against the color instead of painted on top of it. The base is a rounded ceramic jar with soft shoulders, glazed in a deep marigold yellow, and hand-painted with white peonies and curling vines that run all the way around, with one large bloom opening on the front. On top sits a tall cream fabric shade, pressed into fine vertical pleats and flared at the bottom like an old empire shade. Lit, the pleats glow evenly and the white flowers stand out bright against the yellow glaze below.
