Alessi Kitchen Timer by Michael Graves - Black
Mechanical kitchen timer in black thermoplastic resin, designed by Michael Graves
The Alessi Kitchen Timer by Michael Graves in Black gives everyday timing a clear mechanical function wrapped in the playful geometry that defines his best-known Alessi designs. The black thermoplastic body, metallic band, and sculptural top details give this version a more graphic look while preserving the familiar Graves character.

A Mechanical Timer with Graves Character
Michael Graves developed a visual language for Alessi that combined architectural forms with strong color and approachable details. The black A09 version applies that language to a mechanical timer, giving the object enough personality to leave on the counter instead of hiding it in a drawer.
The dark body gives this version a sharper, more understated appearance than the light blue and white variants while keeping the same compact proportions and easy-to-read circular form.
Signature Features
Mechanical movement: Operates without batteries, keeping the timer simple and ready for everyday use.
Black thermoplastic body: Gives this version a darker, more graphic interpretation of the Michael Graves design.
Up to 60 minutes: The analog timer handles everyday cooking and baking intervals with a single mechanical control.
Compact circular form: At approximately 4.14 inches in diameter, the timer fits easily on a counter, shelf, or prep station.
3.54-inch height: Gives the timer enough presence to read easily without taking up unnecessary space.
Michael Graves design: The timer reflects the designer's mix of postmodern geometry, American pop influence, and colored detail.
Original design in production since 1992: The A09 family has remained one of Alessi's recognizable kitchen accessories for decades.
From Our Founder
"The black version gives the Graves timer a stronger graphic presence without changing what makes it useful. It is compact, mechanical, easy to read, and distinctive enough to leave out on the counter."
Tony Boulton, Founder, Design & Grace
