Description

The Vexed Bait Release Clip is a simple piece of terminal tackle that solves two problems at once. It lets you clip a sinker on and swap it out without cutting and re-tying the rig, and its fine hook clip holds that sinker against the hook or dingle dangle all the way through the cast.

Holding the two together stops the bait and sinker fighting each other in the air and spinning in a helicopter motion, which costs distance and tears soft baits apart. As the rig hits the water the clip lets go, the sinker drops away and the bait presents naturally. The result is longer, cleaner casts, fewer tangles and baits that survive the trip out - which makes it a favourite for beach and surf work on species such as tailor, salmon and mulloway, though it is certainly not limited to those.
