J-Track is Dakota Tin's metal grid system — a direct-mount alternative to traditional drop ceilings, and a versatile trim piece for finishing wainscoting, ceiling tiles, and corrugated wall panels. Use J-Track in a finish that matches your tiles or panels to set them in place and complete the look.
Available in our active Colorado Rustic finishes: Rusted, Galvalume, Antique Galvanized, Colorado Premium, Crinkle Black, and Corten A606 (92" only).
Two Sizes, Two Roles
92" J-Track is the long, structural piece — runs along walls and forms the primary spans of a ceiling grid. Also used as the top edging on metal wainscoting installations.
23⅝" J-Track is the cross-member — designed to span between two 92" pieces in a metal grid system, the same way cross-tees work in a traditional drop ceiling.
About J-Track
Price listed includes one strip of J-Track (select size and finish above).
Galvalume: New galvanized steel, light silver, semi-sheen. NO RUST or color variation.
Antique: Antiqued steel, dark grey, weathered, flat texture. NO RUST or color variation.
Finish wears with time (can produce white rust with exposure to moisture), will continue to age with exposure, and may scratch.
We recommend sealing this style with a clear coat for high-wear areas or where oils can get splattered, since it has a more porous surface. Here is how to clear coat Antique products.
Colorado Premium: Galvanized steel artificially aged in-house to replicate the look of our reclaimed Premium Barn Tin — without nail holes or warping. Higher-end aged character with consistency across the run.
Crinkle Black: Matte black steel with a subtle crinkle texture that knocks down the sheen. Uniform black finish with no color variation.
Corten A606 Weathering Steel (24ga, 92" only): Architectural-grade weathering steel that develops a stable, self-protecting rust patina naturally over time. Distinct from our Rusted finish — A606 ships before the patina has developed and weathers in place. Best for exterior, high-moisture, and commercial applications. Higher price point. Not offered in the 23⅝" size.
Want to add protective sealant to your J-Track? Protective sealant is a coating we apply in-house before shipping. It leaves a thin surface film that slows further rusting, helps prevent rust rub-off, and adds a touch of shine.
Protective sealant is available for: Rusted, Antique Galvanized, and Colorado Premium J-Track.
Protective sealant is not offered for: Galvalume, Crinkle Black, White, or Corten A606 — these finishes either have factory coatings or are designed to weather naturally, so sealant isn't compatible or needed.
