On starting outDon't begin by brushing. Let them lick a little pet toothpaste off the brush for a few days first, then touch it to one or two teeth, then build up. Going straight to a full clean on day one is how most people end up with a brush in a drawer.

Care
After each use
Rinse under warm water and stand it somewhere it can dry fully.
Replacing it
When the bristles splay out, it has stopped cleaning properly. Same rule as your own brush.
Important
Never use human toothpaste. The fluoride and xylitol in it are toxic to dogs and cats.
