Somewhere for the food to live that isn't the bag it came in.
A rolled-down sack in the pantry is how most of it gets stored, and it is the reason kibble goes stale and the cupboard smells of it. This is a sealed box instead, with a lid that closes properly.
The lid draws the air out rather than just sitting on top. Less air against the food means it holds its smell and its oils longer, which matters more with the good stuff than with the cheap stuff.
A strap across the front to carry it, in a tan leather-look finish against the white body. It is meant to be left out rather than hidden.
On what goes in itDry food. Kibble, biscuits, freeze-dried. Not wet food, and not a full bag decanted and forgotten about — seal it, but still use it within the date on the bag it came from.

Care
Washing
Wipe the inside dry between refills rather than rinsing it. Any moisture left behind will find the food.
The lid
Keep the rim clean. A crumb caught under the seal is the usual reason a lid stops holding.
Placement
Out of direct sun. Heat does more damage to dry food than air does.
