Kibble goes into the folds. Finding it is the point.

The body is layered fleece, wound so it opens into pockets. Push food down between the layers and a bowl that would have been gone in forty seconds becomes twenty minutes of nose work.

Eight inches across. It comes apart for washing and goes back together the same way, which is the part most snuffle toys get wrong.

There is a squeaker in it, for the dogs who want a reward that is not food.

What this is notThis is a puzzle, not a chew toy. It is meant to be worked with a nose and put away afterward, not left out to be dismantled. Fed to a determined chewer it will not survive the week.

Using it

Loading it

Start easy. Scatter food on the surface for the first few goes so the idea lands, then push it deeper as your dog works out what the toy is for. A dog that fails at it twice will stop trying.

Washing

Take it apart, hand wash the pieces in cool water with mild soap, and air dry them fully before reassembling. Fleece holds damp longer than it looks like it does, and food residue is the reason to keep on top of it.

When to retire it

Check the layers for chewed edges. Once a dog has started eating the toy rather than the food in it, the toy is finished.

From the founder

Dinner used to take forty seconds. Now it takes twenty minutes and he sleeps afterward. I did not expect a toy to change the shape of an evening.
