This was another teapot we first encountered in its wood-fired state from a mixed batch we sourced from our friends out in Qinzhou. They always impress us with the variety of shapes they create, and the different ways they can fire the clay, be it reduction, wood fired, or burnished, there is always more to see.
We put in a custom order of this shape in this classic chocolate style and are not disappointed. It created cleaner lines and edges along the spout, the lid knob, and the foot, which overall just makes this piece feel more elegant and refined.
