Design: Ballena Nocturna
Artist: Valerie Strom
Ballena Nocturna, designed by Mexican artist Valerie Strom, celebrates the quiet magic of the humpback whale and its long migration between northern Pacific waters and Mexico. Each year, humpbacks travel from rich feeding grounds off the coast of British Columbia to the warmer waters of Mexico, where they breed, give birth, and begin the next generation’s journey.
With its crescent moon, rolling waves, and folk-inspired details, this privacy screen honours the deep connection between coastal places, cultures, and the ocean routes that tie them together. Ballena Nocturna brings movement, mystery, and nighttime beauty to the landscape, while reflecting the shared waters between Vancouver Island and Mexico.
