Where Art Meets Function

Original Art • Designed by real artists with royalties paid on every sale
Made on Vancouver Island • Crafted by a woman-owned, family-run business since 2010
Built for Outdoor Use • Trusted in residential, commercial, and public spaces for over 10 years

Design: Salmon Eater

Artist: Jessie Everson (Kwakwaka’wakw / Pentl’ach / K’omoks)

The Salmon Eater privacy screen, designed by Jessie Everson, depicts the spiny sculpin, a small but vital predator in the coastal ecosystem. Known for feeding on salmon eggs, sculpins help maintain balance in the waterways. Without them, salmon could once have become overabundant, shifting the delicate cycles of the natural world.

Today, with wild salmon populations in decline, the sculpin’s role reminds us how every creature is connected to the survival of another. This powerful design captures the tension between abundance and scarcity, inviting reflection on the fragility of balance in nature.

Whether used as a privacy screen or as a standalone art piece, Salmon Eater carries a message of resilience and interdependence. Its bold lines and striking presence make it both a protective enclosure and a cultural statement, resonating with the cycles of life that sustain the Pacific Northwest.

DIY Framing

  • PVC and HDPE should be framed on all 4 sides

  • Minimum 1" x 1" lumber or metal recommended

  • Sandwich method recommended for a secure fit

  • Groove or dado systems can work when the panel fits very snugly with minimal movement

  • Avoid loose-fitting channels that allow the panel to shake or rattle over time

  • ACM can be framed in any style or installed without full framing

Shipping Recommendation

For 3' x 6' panels and larger, ACM or HDPE are recommended for shipped orders due to their durability in transit.
