Sometimes the simplest kitchen tools work the best. Our straight dowel rolling pins are hand-turned in our Kentucky woodshop from solid American hardwood. With no handles, bearings, or moving parts, you get a smooth, uninterrupted rolling surface and direct control over your dough.

Unlike a tapered French rolling pin, a straight dowel pin maintains the same diameter from end to end. This makes it especially useful when you want even pressure and consistent dough thickness across the entire rolling surface.

Why Choose a Straight Rolling Pin?

A straight rolling pin is a great all-purpose choice for pie crusts, cookies, biscuits, pizza dough, pasta, pastries and more. The handle-free design lets you place your hands wherever they're most comfortable while maintaining even pressure across the dough.

Each rolling pin is approximately 1⅝ inches in diameter and is available in 12-inch and 20-inch lengths, as well as a set containing both sizes.

12 Inch: Compact, easy to control and convenient to store. It's especially useful for cookies, pastries, smaller pie crusts and everyday baking.

20 Inch: Provides a larger working surface for pizza dough, larger pie crusts, pasta and bigger batches.

Choose Your Hardwood

Every rolling pin is made from real hardwood without stains or dyes, so the natural wood is part of what makes each one unique.

Walnut has rich, dark brown coloring and distinctive natural grain.

Maple has a light, clean appearance and classic kitchen look.

Cherry features warm reddish-brown tones that naturally deepen and develop character with age.

Oak has a traditional appearance with strong, pronounced grain.

Natural variations in heartwood, sapwood, grain and color are expected. No two rolling pins will look exactly alike.

Handmade in Kentucky

Each rolling pin is individually turned on a lathe in our Kentucky woodshop rather than mass-produced. Small variations are part of working with real wood and making each piece individually.

We finish our rolling pins with a natural, non-toxic, food-safe finish designed for wooden kitchenware.

Straight vs. French Rolling Pins

Not sure which style is right for you?

A straight dowel rolling pin maintains the same diameter from end to end, making it easy to apply even pressure across your dough.

A French rolling pin tapers toward the ends, allowing you to vary pressure and maneuver the pin more easily while rolling.

Neither style is necessarily better—the right choice depends on how you like to bake. If you prefer a simple, consistent rolling surface, the straight dowel design is an excellent choice.

Caring for Your Wooden Rolling Pin

Hand wash your rolling pin and dry it immediately. Do not place it in the dishwasher or leave it soaking in water.

When the wood begins to look dry, apply a food-safe cutting-board oil or wood conditioner. Periodic conditioning helps protect the hardwood and keeps it looking its best.

Made to Be Used

These aren't decorative rolling pins. They're made to become everyday kitchen tools and, with proper care, serve your family for years.

Whether you're making Christmas cookies with the kids, homemade pizza on Friday night, pie crust for Thanksgiving or fresh pasta from scratch, you're using a kitchen tool that was shaped by hand from real American hardwood in Kentucky.

They also make thoughtful wedding, housewarming, Christmas, Mother's Day and baker's gifts for someone who appreciates useful, American-made craftsmanship.
