About IFUJI

IFUJI is a small furniture studio creating distinctive, essential pieces by hand. Based in Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture, Japan, owner and woodworker Masashi Ifuji is a craft artist known for exquisitely crafted wooden objects that combine simplicity and function.

His signature Oval Boxes are inspired by the Shaker boxes of American history. Tableware is another key part of his work, with the same emphasis on form and function.

Materials & Craftsmanship

Each piece is made using traditional Japanese techniques, including sawmilling and plant-dyeing. Natural materials, including glass-based paint and vegetable oil, are essential to the work, complementing its functional forms and earthy appearance.
