And knitting the heels in afterwards allows you to use self-striping yarns (like the famous Arne & Carlos colorways shown here) without breaking up the pattern. Plus the heels and toes are easy to replace when they wear out which will take quite a while, given the rugged durability of Regia 4-ply.
