A traditional red barn with a white roof stands above a dense field of drying corn under a bright blue sky. Soft sunlight falls across the tall stalks while the solid structure rises cleanly against the open landscape. The scene captures the solid, enduring character of rural Michigan, where barns and cornfields still define the fields of the Thumb.

Beyond the Corn is an original from the MI Eye on the Thumb Collection: Barn Series and was taken on September 25, 2017.
