In “Sentinel of Higher Realms,” I invite you to experience a rare moment in the wild—a mountain lion poised in quiet command, bathed in the last light of day. This painting was born from a remarkable encounter: I had the privilege of observing and photographing a mountain lion in the mountains of Montana during a private session with a wildlife center. Witnessing this powerful creature move through its element—surrounded by untamed beauty—left a lasting impression that I’ve sought to capture in this work.

The mountain lion stands atop a rocky outcropping, surveying a landscape awash in the warm hues of sunset. My goal was to convey not just the animal’s strength, but also the delicate interplay of light, shadow, and the rugged beauty of the mountains that surround it. Every brushstroke is a tribute to the wild places that inspire my art and the profound connection I feel to nature.
