Create a deer-resistant landscape that packs a punch when you pair butterfly bushes with Sunshine Blue® II bluebeard (Caryopteris). This bluebeard features bright chartreuse foliage that contrasts with dark blue flowers from late summer through fall. While the flowers may bloom later in summer, they are nectar-filled and help fuel pollinators like bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds later in the season. Bluebeard is also very low maintenance and doesn't require much effort during the growing season to look fabulous, thriving in just about any sunny garden site, even ones with dry soils. Try pairing with butterfly bushes to keep your garden buzzing with activity from summer to fall.
