The Durango is a men's shearling barn coat cut from full sheepskin: napped suede on the outside, dense Turkish merino wool on the inside, and a shearling collar you can turn up against the wind. It closes with five oversized horn buttons, has two hand pockets, and falls just below the hip.

Some coats are made for the walk from the truck to the office. The Durango is made for the high country in winter, when the wind comes flat across open ground and a man wants something between him and it.
The cut goes back to the sheepskin barn coats of the 1970s ranch: square through the body, long enough to cover the belt, plain where it should be plain. Each coat is a full hide of merino shearling, so the wool and the leather are one piece. Nothing is glued or quilted in. It breathes, it holds heat without bulk, and the suede softens and darkens a little more every winter you wear it.
Espresso Brown is the deep, dark version, close to the color of strong coffee. It dresses up more easily than the tan, over a tweed vest or a button-down, and still holds up on the ranch. Prefer the classic? See the Durango in Saddle Tan.

A barn coat is a hip-length work coat with a square cut, big pockets and a collar that turns up. The shearling version is made from sheepskin with the wool left on, so the hide is the shell and the wool is the lining in one piece.
Yes. It is full-hide sheepskin shearling: suede on the outside, merino wool on the inside. Nothing is synthetic, bonded or glued in.
Shearling is one of the warmest natural materials a coat can be made from. The 12 to 14 mm merino pile traps heat and still breathes, so you stay warm on days near and below freezing without overheating indoors.
Dry snow and a light drizzle are fine; shake it off and hang it to dry at room temperature. Keep it out of soaking rain, and never dry it near a heater or in a dryer.
It is cut to wear over a flannel or a sweater. Measure your chest and use the size chart; if you fall between sizes, size up.
Brush the suede with a soft suede brush, spot clean marks, and take it to a sheepskin specialist for a deep clean. Store it on a wide wooden hanger in a breathable bag. Full guide: How to care for a shearling jacket.
The Durango is a barn coat: five horn buttons, a turn-up collar, cut for the outdoors. The Big Sky is a blazer cut with three buttons, made to dress up. Same Turkish merino shearling in both.
Each coat takes several full sheepskins, and good merino shearling is graded and tanned in Turkey before it is cut and sewn. Cheaper "shearling" coats are usually polyester sherpa bonded to faux suede. Real sheepskin outlasts them by decades. See Shearling vs. Sherpa.
