"I designed this garment with the aim of creating a piece of woolly armor, something to remind you to stay soft in an increasingly harsh world. It’s also a layering piece for transitional weather - keeping your core warm while still allowing for movement and air flow, simple but with enough detail to keep it interesting. The shaker rib epaulets lend the wearer a feeling of quiet power, and options for either ties or button tabs at the sides as well as for a crew- or mock- neck allow you to customize the tabard to your preference. Aegis is the name of the goddess Athena’s legendary goatskin breastplate in some Greek myths, so that felt especially fitting!" — designer, Mary Weaver
