The basin is raised from a single disc of 16-gauge solid copper and worked outward by hand until the walls stand straight and the floor falls gently to the drain. The hammering is dense and even - close to thirty thousand strikes - which is what gives the surface its shifting, water-like depth under light.

Never plated. Never copper-coloured steel. Left unlacquered, it will move from bright penny through amber to a deep settled brown, and it will do it faster around the waterline, which is exactly the point. Copper is naturally antimicrobial.

Installation needs no cutout - the basin sits on the counter over a standard 1.5" hole, so it suits a retrofit onto existing stone as easily as a new build.
