Book matched marble floor to ceiling, a clawfoot tub, brass taps, folded white towels, and an upholstered ottoman placed where an ottoman has no practical business being. That is where your dog is sitting. Upright, composed, faintly proprietorial. Pale and bright, for the room in a house that nobody ever thinks to put art in.
