When a funky fungus threatens Laura’s American corn crop, George the Farmer jets off to Nebraska to lend a hand. With maps, a harvester and a whole lot of Aussie ingenuity, can the crew turn trouble into a-maize-ing fun — and turn a crop crisis into a community celebration?

This cheeky cross-continental adventure introduces kids to corn smut (a real-life fungus), the role of fungi in food systems, and how farmers adapt to challenges in clever, sustainable ways. There’s even a surprise kangaroo-shaped corn maze to top it all off!

With 16 full-page colour illustrations, this 32-page story is a fun and educational way to teach kids about corn, fungi, food waste, and global farming— perfect for ages 2–10.
