 Who was Zenobia?

She conquered Egypt, declared war on Rome, and made the Emperor come for her himself. Zenobia, queen of Palmyra, built an empire in the third century when the world had no framework for a woman like her. Rome eventually won. But they could not destroy her. Some women are simply too much for the world to contain. These earrings are named for one of them.
