Who Is Henry Cejudo?

Henry Cejudo has made a career out of winning against all the odds. In 2008, he entered the Olympics as a huge underdog and achieved what many thought impossible by winning a gold medal at the age of 20, making him the youngest American to ever win the Olympics at the time.

What Will You Learn?

What was the key to his incredible success at such a young age? What were the skills and techniques that set him apart from the field and made him so special?

Henry Cejudo is here to break down, in detail, all of the attacks, counters, and fundamentals that let him succeed at the highest levels of the sport across this new 8-volume instructional series, one of the most high-level wrestling instructionals to hit in years.

It doesn’t matter if you are an experienced wrestler, a newcomer to the sport, or a coach trying to find new ways to challenge his team, this instructional series is made with everyone in mind and by the end of it, you can be moving a lot more comfortably and confidently on the mat than ever. By building from the basic foundations of the sport up, you can see the most important keys to successful wrestling that made Henry the best in the world and an American wrestling legend. These are the building blocks of wrestling, broken down to the little details that make a move sink or swim at the senior level.

Henry Cejudo and his brother Angel (an undefeated 4-time California state champion) are perfectionists on the mat, and they have built a system around creating action based on reactions, instead of relying on speed, power, or athleticism.

This system brought them a ton of success, even against wrestlers with way more experience. With these techniques and drills, including the ones that Henry focused on leading up to his gold medal performance, you can increase your development and start seeing yourself improving at a faster than ever speed. Move, defend, and read your opponent’s with these important points from, the champ himself.

One of the core concepts to Henry Cejudo’s attacks is disguise, using one movement to set up another, without ever telegraphing anything and showing your opponent what you want to do. See exactly how Cejudo gets to the legs on anyone, including the knee pull single leg setup that won him the US Olympic Trials before he used it again in Beijing in the Olympic finals. There’s a lot of diverse attacks here on every volume, including double legs, single legs, high crotches, and more, all with the subtle changes that Henry made a habit on the senior level.

If you are tired of having to constantly defend shots, and you aren’t sure why people are getting to leg attacks on you, then this series can help fix some of those defensive holes in your game.

Check out Henry's take on penetration and level change

Henry talks about why defense will always be the first priority for him in any match, before breaking down the levels of defense he uses to stay ahead of his competition. With drill after drill focused on improving your sprawling, short offense, and re-attacks, you can get back to your offense instead of always being the one in trouble.

So What's On This Series?

Learn How To Become The Filthiest Takedown Guy In The Room & Dominate From Top & Bottom

This is a full-service wrestling boot camp, leaving nothing back that you need for success next season. Start with stance and motion drills that you can do anywhere by yourself, then start building by seeing the footwork and movement drills that helped turn Henry into a senior level player at such a young age. See the small mistakes that Henry believes too many high school guys are doing lately, and how to fix them, including the popular shot drill that most coaches in America are getting wrong! With just a little grind, you can gain that slickness that the best guys have, once you get your hands on the movement and reaction drills here.

In a first for Wrestling Fanatics, you can now see the takedown that won an Olympic gold medal! Henry has a notoriously wide array of trips, throws, and shots he uses, but when the pressure was on he went back to the basics that he does better than anyone with his leg attacks. Now the exact sequence he used to earn his place in history is here with step-by-step instruction, giving you a great go-to attack that you can use with gold-medal confidence. Henry breaks down the best singles, doubles, high crotches, and low singles that he has honed over years of competition, with entries and finishing options for any body type. These are technical answers to wrestling problems, no power or speed necessary. You definitely need to check out the high crotch finish that Henry uses, as shown to him by Olympic teammate Daniel Cormier. Instead of driving through like everyone else, Henry is able to scoop and finish swinging back into himself, a variation that has cut the scramble out of his high crotch finishes.

Henry and his brother Angel won a combined 8 state titles in California, and they didn’t just get it done on the feet, they brought that same technical style to their mat work. Angel Cejudo, 4 time state champ and head wrestling coach at Fight Ready, breaks down all of the turns and escapes that he trusts in. These are fundamentals done well, explained thoroughly, and combined in ways that always keep your options available for switching back and forth. Angel’s bar-half and cradle series alone will shoot your pinning percentage way up, and the hip heisting motions that his athletes have adopted get them out from bottom in a flash.
