$1000.00

The Speeder 300 combines much of the speed and low weight of a road bike with a more comfortable, upright riding position, making it a great partner for fast commuting and fitness rides. It pairs a hydroformed aluminium frame and full carbon fork with a road-derived Shimano Tiagra 2x10 drivetrain and Shimano hydraulic disc brakes.

Merida uses the same triple-butted 6066 aluminium as on its road bikes, hydroformed to tune the frame for a comfortable, responsive ride, and the full carbon fork with tapered steerer adds precise steering and helps smooth out rough roads. Road.cc rated the Speeder an "excellent fast flat-bar road bike".

The 50-34T chainset and 11-32T cassette give you road-bike pace on the flat with enough low gears for climbing, while the upright position, flat bar and hydraulic disc brakes give you good control and a clear view of traffic in town. It rolls on 32mm Maxxis Detonator tyres, with room for up to 35mm (32mm with mudguards), and the frame has mounts for a rack, mudguards and a kickstand.
