The LBF is what happens when a drop-bar bike is built to go where drop bars usually fear to tread. It's a steel 29er with a 100mm RockShox SID fork, mountain-bike tyres and mountain-bike brakes, designed for technical singletrack, rough backcountry gravel and the long, mixed-terrain days in between.
The Reynolds 520 butted Cromoly frame gives a smooth, composed ride and clears tyres up to 29x2.5". Kona's custom SRAM set-up pairs Apex drop-bar levers with G2 four-piston calipers on 180mm rotors, so there's serious stopping power when the trail tips downhill, and the 12-speed 10-52t drivetrain gives low enough gears for steep, loose climbs.
A TranzX dropper, a flared Ritchey Beacon bar and RaceFace ARC 27 rims with Maxxis Dissector and Forekaster tyres complete a bike that blurs the line between gravel bike and drop-bar hardtail. For 2027 it comes in Gloss Cherry Lacquer.
