A bit of chain lube overspray, a greasy fingerprint or a slow build-up of pad dust is all it takes to leave your brakes noisy and short on bite. Brake Cleaner is Gtechniq's answer - a specialist solvent blend that dissolves the dirt, grime, oil and brake dust that builds up on discs and in pads, then evaporates quickly and leaves minimal residue behind.
It's safe on disc brakes, pads, rim brakes and other braking components, so it earns its place on the workshop shelf for pad swaps, post-wash wipe-downs and those rides when your brakes start sounding unhappy. Rather than a pressurised aerosol can, it comes in a non-aerosol pump spray bottle - no propellant, no bulky container, and a more eco-conscious way to keep your stopping power where it should be.
To use, give the bottle a good shake, put some gloves on and work out of direct sunlight. Spray straight onto the brake area, or onto a microfibre cloth such as Gtechniq's MF1 Buff Cloth, and clean the braking surface. Wipe away any overspray on the frame and components, and repeat if needed. Available in 250ml and 500ml bottles.
