The Torch is a race-bred BMX tyre built for the short, flat-out sprint of a modern BMX track. When a moto is over in around 30 seconds you need every advantage you can get, so Maxxis paired a lightweight 120 TPI casing with a low, tightly packed tread that rolls quickly over hard-packed dirt and tarmac and stays predictable through the berms.
The tread uses two rubber compounds - one tuned for low rolling resistance, the other for cornering grip - and a Silkworm breaker sits under the tread to add puncture and tear resistance without piling on weight. This 20 x 1-1/8" version runs on a wire bead, keeping it affordable for a tyre you'll get through over a season of racing, and at 260g it's still impressively light.
