A butterfly might be the finishing touch you've been searching for. Each one works up in less than 30 minutes, and with only scraps of yarn. This project will give you great practice for taller stitches, the double treble crochet, and is forgiving enough to still look cute if your tension isn't perfect.

Medium weight cake yarns with long, sweeping color transitions are perfect for this little crochet butterfly ,but you can use any medium weight yarn in your stash and achieve a great result.
