4" SURFACE CONDITIONING QUICK CHANGE DISCS - 25 PACK

Benchmark Abrasives 4" surface conditioning quick change discs combine the controlled cleaning, blending, and finishing action of flexible nonwoven abrasive material with the convenience of a Type R quick-change attachment (Equivalent to 3M™ Roloc™ fastening system). The aluminum oxide abrasive works through an open nonwoven web that conforms to contours and irregular surfaces, making these larger-diameter discs effective for cleaning, light deburring, blending, oxidation removal, and finish refinement without the aggressive stock removal of a conventional coated abrasive.

The 4" diameter provides substantially more working surface than smaller quick-change discs, making it a strong option for covering broader areas while retaining the fast attachment and removal of the Type R system. Available in Coarse, Medium, and Fine grades, these discs let you progress from stronger surface cleaning and preparation through general blending and finer finish refinement.

Performance

The open nonwoven construction provides controlled abrasive action while conforming to curves, contours, and irregular surfaces. Compared with smaller quick-change discs, the 4" diameter covers more surface area per pass, making it useful when the job requires broader cleaning or blending without moving to a conventional rigid abrasive.

Choose Coarse for stronger cleaning and surface preparation, Medium for general blending and refinement, and Fine for lighter finishing. Final surface appearance depends on the selected grade, starting surface, workpiece material, operating speed, pressure, and technique.

Machine Compatibility

Designed for compatible die grinders and hand-held pneumatic grinders equipped with a 4" Type R quick-change rubber mandrel or holder.

The mounting accessory must match the 4" disc and Type R attachment. Always verify that the complete disc, mandrel or holder, and tool assembly is approved for the operating speed before use.

Safety Tips

  • Use only a compatible 4" Type R quick-change rubber mandrel or holder.
  • Verify that the disc is fully engaged with the mounting accessory before starting the tool.
  • Never exceed the disc's 25,000 RPM maximum speed or the rating of the lowest-rated component in the assembly.
  • Inspect the disc and mounting accessory for damage or excessive wear before use.
  • Wear appropriate eye, hearing, respiratory, and hand protection.
  • Use controlled pressure and allow the abrasive to do the work.
  • Follow the operating and safety instructions supplied with the power tool and mounting accessory.
