Shell Cordovan:
We do not offer splitting services for Shell Cordovan. Due to its unique fiber structure and high oil content, Shell Cordovan can produce inconsistent and unpredictable results when split, even with a properly prepared and extremely sharp band knife. For this reason, we do not accept Shell Cordovan for splitting.

Please include your name, phone number, and email address so we can contact you if we have any questions upon receiving your leather.

An invoice will be sent once the leather has been measured and prior to any splitting work being performed.

The $25 payment covers our splitting service for up to 2 square feet. If the total amount of leather exceeds 2 square feet, the $25 already paid will be applied toward the final cost of the splitting service, and we will invoice you for the remaining balance.

Return shipping and handling will be added to the final invoice and is the responsibility of the customer, whether the splitting service is for 2 square feet or less, or exceeds 2 square feet.

Please Note:

Leather cannot exceed 14.5" at its widest point
We do not accept Shell Cordovan for splitting
Leather must be supplied by the customer, including scrap pieces for test runs prior to final splitting
Please write the desired thickness on the flesh side of each piece. For example, if you are sending three pieces of leather, please mark each piece individually with its requested thickness
Final thickness may vary slightly depending on the leather type, temper, and condition
We are not responsible for damage resulting from hidden defects, weak grain, loose fibers, previous splitting, or other characteristics inherent to the leather
We reserve the right to decline pieces that are too small, fragile, or otherwise unsuitable for splitting
Customers are responsible for shipping costs both ways

Turnaround Time:

Typically 3–7 business days upon receipt of leather.
