These teacups are made with iron-rich clay, which enhances and mellows the flavors of tea. The interior of the cup is glazed and glossy to accentuate the color of the tea, while the exterior is unglazed to maintain its modern feel. Pair them with our partner, POJ Studio's Ten Tea or complete the set with the Nankei Teapot.

ABOUT THE ARTISAN: 

These cups are handmade by a family-run business established four generations ago in Mie Prefecture. Entering the business as clay makers and sellers in 1913, the family has deep knowledge of the soil of the local area and how to develop it into clay that is most suitable for pottery. In 1972, they branched out into making teapots of their own. 

CARE INSTRUCTIONS: 

• Microwave and dishwasher safe 
• Most stains can be removed with an eraser 
• Due to the nature of the glaze, pinholes (small holes) may appear
