BCM has designed a relatively low cost, long lasting bat roost with features based on 30+ years of observation, perfect for any backyard! Our one-piece, UV-resistant resin outer shell will outlast any unmaintained all-wood bat house on the market; no painting required. The ColonyCondo is ideal for sites where a bat colony is already established, where long term mitigation is desired, or as a building block to form larger structures such as a Super Duplex, or a 2x2 or 3x3 Modular Condo.
If you are just trying to -start- a colony of bats, we recommend trying several ColonyCabins or DayLodges in different areas around your property, with varying degrees of solar exposure until bats take hold. Direct morning sun is critical. But if you already have bats roosting onsite or in the neighborhood, bigger is better with bat houses, and the ColonyCondo is the largest single bat house BCM sells, but is still manageable for installation with simple tools and a few extra hands
Each ColonyCondo ships finished, with all interior surfaces permanently roughened by hand in random directions for the best "bat-holds" possible. We do not use screen material for baffles, which can shred over time and may trap bat pups, or simple horizontal grooves. Our decorative bat design on the front serves as a vent in addition to up to 8 vents on the rear. Besides providing a desirable temperature gradient from a very hot roof to ambient, bats can exit the back onto a Perch Panel included in the mount kit, or pass into other ColonyCondos on the same post.

Which color bat house is best for you? Select black, brown, or green for most northern states and high elevations. Select tan for warmer climates such as all the Gulf Coast states and low elevation/desert of AZ, NM, and CA.
