The Streamlight ProTac 2.0 (89000) is a high-performance rechargeable tactical flashlight delivering 2,000 lumens without sacrificing run time. Powered by the included SL-B50® protected Li-Ion USB-C rechargeable battery pack — chargeable inside or outside the light — and built from 6000-series machined aircraft aluminum with a Type II MIL-Spec anodized finish. TEN-TAP® programming lets you select from three user-configurable operating programs. IP67-rated, 2-meter impact resistant, and includes a nylon holster, removable pocket clip, and USB-C cord. Backed by Streamlight’s limited lifetime warranty.
Three user-selectable programs configurable via TEN-TAP programming:
What is TEN-TAP® programming and how do I use it?
TEN-TAP is Streamlight’s user-programmable mode system. By rapidly clicking the tail switch ten times within a set time window, you cycle through and select one of three output programs: Program 1 (High/Strobe/Low), Program 2 (High only), or Program 3 (Low/Medium/High). Once set, the flashlight remembers your selected program on next activation. This allows you to configure the ProTac 2.0 for tactical use (Program 2 for instant-on high), extended fieldwork (Program 3 for low-first activation), or general use (Program 1).
Can I charge the SL-B50® battery pack outside the flashlight?
Yes — the SL-B50® battery pack has an integrated USB-C charging port on the pack itself, so it can be charged both inside the flashlight (via the light’s charging port) or removed and charged directly with any standard USB-C cable. This gives you flexibility to carry a spare charged pack and swap it in the field.
What does IP67 mean for a flashlight?
IP67 is an ingress protection rating indicating the flashlight is completely dust-tight (6) and waterproof to 1 meter of depth for up to 30 minutes (7). This means it can handle rain, splashing, brief submersion, and dusty jobsite conditions without damage. It is not rated for sustained deep submersion — for that, a higher IP68 rating would be required.
Is the ProTac 2.0 suitable for arborist and utility fieldwork?
Yes — the ProTac 2.0 is well-suited for arborist, utility, and construction fieldwork. The 25-hour low-mode run time provides all-day illumination for inspection and low-demand tasks, while the 2,000-lumen high mode covers canopy inspection, overhead rigging assessment, and night operations. The IP67 rating and 2-meter impact resistance handle outdoor jobsite conditions, and the USB-C charging eliminates dependence on disposable batteries.
