A Rug with a Story
Chindi is the Hindi word for cotton offcuts, and that is exactly what this rug is made from. Skilled weavers in India handweave reclaimed cotton rags on traditional looms, turning fabric that would otherwise be thrown away into a bright, characterful multicoloured rug. Because each one is made individually, the mix of shades varies from rug to rug, so yours will be completely unique.
Colour and Texture for Every Room
The cheerful striped mix of colours lifts a living room, bedroom, kitchen or hallway and sits beautifully with boho, Scandi, rustic and farmhouse styling. Use a small size by the bed or back door, a long runner in the hallway, or a larger rug under the dining table or in a conservatory.
Practical, Washable Cotton
This is a flat woven rug with no pile and no backing, so there is nothing to trap dirt. The whole rug can go in the washing machine on a cool, gentle cycle, which makes it a brilliant choice for homes with children or pets. Double side hemming keeps the edges tidy, and the rug is fully reversible, so you can flip it over to even out wear.
Caring for Your Rug
Machine wash cool on a gentle cycle and air dry flat. Avoid tumble drying and bleach. Colour shades vary slightly between pieces, which is all part of the charm of a handmade rug.
